Well funded, fast growing e-commerce company seeks a Director of Analytics in its Manhattan headquarters
Job Description:
The primary responsibility for this role is conducting statistical analyses in support of our marketing, retention and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong consultative skills in addition to quantitative ability, and will be aware of the challenges of using statistics in a business setting, such as incomplete data, biased data, and large data sets. Requires being creative and resourceful in use of both traditional and newer statistical and data mining techniques. This is an opportunity to model a business that has not existed before.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
- Develop statistical models to support marketing efforts, such as customer segmentation, acquisition and retention.
- Develop statistical testing programs to measure and improve on-going performance of marketing and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on rigorous data analysis
- Partner with IT to implement models and tests
Qualifications & Experience equirements:
- Data Mining, statistical modeling and other statistical techniques.
- Customer segmentation
- Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, S+, SAS, R
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience with SQL, relational database design and methods for efficiently retrieving data from them.
- Experience with survey highly desired.
- 5-8 years professional experience.
- Must be able to maintain a "Big Picture" perspective.
- Must have entrepreneurial spirit and drive, thriving in a fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing industry.
- Masters' Degree in statistics, econometrics or related field. Ph.D. preferred
Salary: to $150K
