Level: Director

Leads a team of statisticians in creating new models, tracking established models and applying statistical thinking to new business domains. Identifies changes required in Capital one practices, defines project scope, executes and evaluates projects, manages individuals, champions new ideas and influences senior leaders. Develops understanding of Capital One's broad statistical needs in order to design, develop and deploy systematic improvements across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of statistical solutions (models, doe, etc) to business problems.

• Managing execution of statistician team project deliverables to lines of business (includes aligning non-statistician resources, developing project plans, conducting and reviewing analysis, etc)

• Manage innovation in statistical tools and the application of statistics (new method, procedures, new uses of statistics)

• Exhibit statistical leadership. Create and execute a compelling vision that meets business needs. Hire, train, coach and motivate staff of statisticians

• Managing current processes, tests and statistical model performance to ensure business value is being delivered.

• Manage up to 6 people

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in statistics, econometrics or mathematics

• 5 Years experience in Building mortgage-based statistical models in financial services

• 2 Years experience in Managing team of analysts/statisticians

• 2 Years experience in Project Leadership

• 2 Years experience in Financial Services Industry

• 2 Years experience in Technical and analytical tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics or Economics

• 10 Years experience in Building statistical models in financial services

• 5 Years experience in Managing team of analysts/statisticians

• 5 Years experience in Project Leadership

• 5 Years experience in Financial Services Industry with technical and analytical tools
