Job Description
|
Entry-level Programmer Quantitative Analyst Since 1980, ARGO has been the leading provider of best practices applications and technology, empowering top U.S. financial services companies to automate processes, increase efficiency, and optimize the use of their customer information. ARGO is expanding the Analytical Science Group and we are seeking talented individuals with skills and interest in the following: mathematical / statistical analysis, software development, conceptual design, collaboration with multiple business units, and customer interaction. Duties and Responsibilities - Perform statistical data analysis and interpret results within the context of business / customer objectives, with supervision.
- Assist in the design and development of applications related to forecasting, credit risk analysis, performance analysis, and other mathematics/statistics based business applications.
- Assist in the design and development of management reporting across product lines.
- Review mathematical and statistical methods proposed to meet product specifications.
- Perform studies/projects of complex scope, requiring independent development of innovative analytical approaches to resolve issues related to specified products.
- Assist in the development, modification, testing, and support of application and database systems with respect to mathematical algorithms.
- Collaborate across business units and multiple product lines
Qualifications An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Strong work ethic is important. Candidate must be self-motivated and detail-oriented. Required Qualifications - Bachelors degree in mathematical sciences with emphasis in statistics and probability
- GPA of 3.0 or higher (both cumulative and in major)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple project groups
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Desired Qualifications - Coursework in operations research and optimization, computational mathematics, and/or financial and actuarial mathematics
- Familiarity with programming (Visual Basic, C++/Java)
- Familiarity with major database software (MS SQL, Oracle, DB2)
- Familiarity with statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata)
Beneficial Qualifications - Knowledge of banking and financial service industry
- Work experience during school
Minimal travel anticipated; for some projects, however, travel could be up to 15%.
