Statistical Data Analyst  II

Overall Purpose

Responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation, and enhancement of analytically derived models and reports to produce the highest level of fraud prediction and prevention.

Essential Functions

  • Extract, transform and load (data ETL) datasets from various sources and formats
  • Create, optimize and maintain predictive models.
  • Utilizes statistical methods and analytics to produce quantifiable results in support of high level business objectives. 
  • Responsible for assessing the value of new data sources, data elements, and alternative modeling approaches.
  • Design and code methods for validating and monitoring model performance.
  • Support Account Management and Operations in analysis of customer data.
  • Translate non-technical business questions into quantifiable analysis tasks.
  • Effectively communicate findings from complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
  • Complies with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field; Advanced degree preferred. 
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a statistical data analyst or similar role utilizing predictive analytics and data mining techniques in a data rich environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with SAS programming (Base SAS, SAS STAT, SAS Macro, and Proc SQL).
  • Proven experience in data mining, data manipulation and data step programming.
  • Experience with a wide variety of statistical modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Approved background and drug screen is required.
