The Senior Analyst - Strategic Business Analysis (SBA) is responsible for performing complex data manipulation and analysis. SBA supports the success of Targetbase by providing data-driven strategic recommendations that guide our client’s decision making process. The Senior Analyst position is project focused and is responsible for delivering analytical results as part of an entire client solution.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews data for trends, patterns, and causal analysis to assist our client’s understanding of consumer behaviors and attitudes. Converts data into recommendations for client usage and understanding. Quality checks data.
- Will work with web analytics tools.
- Writes presentation of analysis for project leads.
- Should have Advanced SAS programming and data management experience (Transactional data preferred). The successful candidate should be skilled in tasks such as * manipulating and transforming transactional data * proficient in writing and interpreting SAS SQL code (using Oracle and/or Netezza database) * creating and using the SAS MACRO facility. * requiring advanced DATA step programming statements and efficiency techniques to solve complex problems * creating advanced detail and summary reports using SAS procedures* predictive modeling experience preferred - ability to prepare data, build predictive models, assess models, score new data sets, and implement models
- Integrates and prepares data for project lead and/or client review.
- Writes tab plan for data summarization from raw data collection.
- Discerns and recommends appropriate action(s) from analysis of survey data.
- May be asked to act as a Project Manager. Sets project timelines and milestones. Accountable for project completion according to timelines.
- Manages time and proactively assists others during slower work periods.
- Maintains documentation of work on client projects.
- May deliver results to client in presentation format.
- Responsible for analytical planning.
- Assists project lead in ensuring the integrity and quality of client deliverable(s).
- Begins to move into a specialization while maintaining a working knowledge of all areas of SBA.
- May be asked to review and select vendors for projects.
Requirements:
1. Minimum requirements include 2 years experience in Marketing Research or Database Marketing.
2. Preferred requirements include a Bachelors/Masters Degree in Social Sciences/Computer Science/Economics/Marketing/Market Research and experience in modeling, forecasting, and segmentation.
3. Familiar with SAS/SPSS and/or OLAP or Datamining tools.
4. Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
5. Proficient working with and exploring data and in quantitative analysis, mathematics and statistics.
6. Must be familiar with design and/or building of online and/or offline surveys.
7. Knowledge of targeted and/or mass interactive initiatives.
8. Experience with web analytics is preferred (click stream data analysis is a plus).
