Job Highlights:

Operate as a member of the Retail Client’s Marketing Team, focused on growing Client’s business.  Uncover trends and opportunities by primarily using Catalina’s Connection Builder analytical tool, as well as all available Client, Catalina and third party analytical tools.  Identify and produce the data required to understand Client’s business needs and opportunities.  Translate the data into meaningful insights and package them into a form that can be easily understood by Client management.  Develop and present marketing program evaluations, including ROI and make new recommendations based on learnings.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Actively participate in Client-initiated strategy meetings.
  2. Use available data sources to analyze Client’s business as directed or in an effort to uncover opportunities that, if addressed through marketing/merchandising initiatives, will positively impact Clients business.
  3. Define the data needs and possible sources to understand the business situation.
  4. Produce the raw data and package it into understandable business reports and insights.
  5. Clearly identify the business opportunity.
  6. Incorporate financial assumptions, control information, and projected results to assure that program recommendations will meet the business objectives.
  7. Develop the analytical methodology and success criteria for all project related marketing and merchandising programs.
  8. Analyze, and be willing to present, program results and their impact on Client category volume and profits.

 

Qualifications:

Education:              Bachelor Degree or MBA

Experience:              Three to five years analytical experience using customer data, scan data and syndicated data in the retail industry.  Experience may be with a retail manufacturer, retailer or service provider.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to master new data management tools, and use them to uncover Client opportunities. 
  • Understanding of retail loyalty data and ability to translate data into meaningful insights to address strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to work independent of supervision and make decisions of wide variety and complexity.
  • Ability to professionally perform multi-media sales presentations.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Financial projection skills.
  • Solid understanding of test vs. control analysis and MS Access based systems.
  • Thorough understanding of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Knowledge of SAS, MicroStrategy and GIS software a plus
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of management.
