Summary: 1. Designs and implements software defect repairs and enhancements of moderate to high complexity including all necessary software coding, and product and process documentation. Responsible for ensuring all deliverables are high quality. The developer should demonstrate competency in J2EE technologies and should provide direction and mentoring for others. 2. High competency on component integration especially in SAAS, enterprise level services, and equally with custom built or vendor based solutions to ensure the best fit for the use cases and requirements presented. 3. Solve and assist with issues related to common software framework infrastructure requirements for the Business Objects Backbone domain (such as application server analysis). 4. Effectively participates on cross-functional product teams. 5. Provide the technical expertise to compliment the development manager's project and organizational expertise for the owned design and code. 6. Provide input on multi-year development roadmaps, task definition and assignment, scheduling. 7. Responsible for initiating, developing and driving the adoption of product and process improvements. 8. Mentors team members and review all proposed designs for general quality and adherence to the relevant Architectural Design context. 9. Resolve technical disagreements involving team members. 10. Collaborates with Architects, and peers to achieve end-to-end quality in our technology and customer experience |
| Qualifications: |
* Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience * Excellent verbal, graphical, and written communications * Scrum and other Agile development methodolgies * Excellent verbal, graphical, and written communications * Minimum 3 years leading advanced J2EE development of complex, real-time, production-quality, mission-critical J2EE apps. Demonstrable familiarity with J2EE specs. * 5+ years experience with application development or framework development with experience building large systems (handling 1,000s of transactions per second). * The candidate will have a wide breadth of knowledge related to the following technologies: * J2EE Technology: JMS, EJB, XML/XSLT, JSP/Servlet * Server Computing platforms (Unix, Linux, Windows 2000/XP) * Development Languages (e.g. Java, C++) * Application Servers (e.g. Oracle Application Server, WebLogic, JBoss). * OOAD, UML, J2EE Design Patterns * BPEL tools, Frameworks, Developer tools and Enterprise Messaging tools such as Oracle Fusion, AIA, JDeveloper, Eclipse, TIBCO, and BusinessWorks. * Designing and deploying shared development frameworks * Designing and deploying applications built to support using a large-scale, always-on (99.999%) infrastructure. * Assisting other architects and engineering teams on building and deploying shared frameworks or applications in complex, distributed development environments (e.g. versioning, change management, development support) * Designing the foundations to an application (e.g. error handling, collection classes, data types, distributed components, portable solutions) * Gathering and assessing business and technical requirements * The candidate should be familiar with: CMMI, Software development life cycles, RFI/RFQ process.
