The Monitoring Tools Administrator is responsible for the support of system and service monitoring infrastructure for the Service Availability Management (SAM) Team.
• Demonstrates a consistent focus on providing excellent customer service and leadership. • Demonstrates sound and risk-aware decision-making in the support of a 24/7 Production environment. • Takes ownership of issues escalated from Customer Service and the NOC and drives them to their complete resolution with a strong sense of urgency. • Serves as technical resource for less experienced staff and other teams. • Ensures the consistent utilization of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform administrative tasks and updates or creates those procedures when they are found to be inaccurate, outdated or non-existent. • Participates in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of key monitoring infrastructure. • Demonstrates a consistent attitude and execution of initiative, teamwork and cooperation with other teams throughout the company.
• Troubleshooting: Resolves complex and unique issues that require a thorough knowledge of Payment Solutions' infrastructure and the technologies that support it. Accepts escalation of these issues from team members, Customer Service staff, and supervisors. • Resolution of Production Issues or Outages: Takes ownership of system-level issues escalated from NOC or revealed by automated system monitoring. Utilizes technical skills and Payment Solutions-specific knowledge to drive issues to resolution. • Routine Systems Administration: Performs daily administrative tasks on computer systems (servers) in the immediate functional area. Carries out preventative maintenance tasks with the goal of ensuring maximum uptime. • Works with NOC to ensure smooth adoption of new monitoring technologies. • Documentation: Create SOPs for new and undocumented recurring tasks to help prevent mistakes and promote cross-training within the team.10% • Reporting: Create custom reports at the request of management or other teams. • Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call support. • May be required to participate in monthly maintenance window (11pm - 2 am).

| Qualifications: |
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Familiarity with availability and performance monitoring concepts. • Experience working with standard IMS system, application, and environmental monitoring software.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Operations experience in a 24x7x365 environment as a Windows system administrator. • Working knowledge of Linux\Unix operating systems and experience in basic Linux\Unix administration.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Advanced knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 architecture fundamentals. • Strong knowledge of Linux system fundamentals is a Must • MS SQL and MySQL experience a plus. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer service focus. • Equipment Used: Windows 2000 and 2003 Servers, RedHat Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows XP desktops and laptops.
