Organization Objective/Purpose:
The Web Technology Solutions department's purpose is to provide high quality common web solutions for all Schwab clients including advisors, individuals and active investors.
Brief Description of Role:
The primary responsibility of the Line of Business Manager (Managing Director) is to be the single point of Schwab Technology Services (STS) accountability with business partners for the products that make up the Line of Business. This role would include both Project and Maintenance work. This individual will engage primarily with direct and indirect reports and business partners, including application developers, technical analysts, QA, Project Managers, program management, business partners, domain partners, as well as cross enterprise Managers and Officers. Platform technology supported are primarily MS .Net, C# and Java.
Technical/Functional Qualifications:
- 8+ years of IT project experience in technical, project and offshore vendor management capabilities.
- 5+ years experience in Financial Services Industry.
- 5+ Years experience with running medium to large/complex projects with multiple dependencies using Rational Unified.
- Experience in planning, implementation and support of business application components, including change & release management.
- Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail & the ability to design, execute & maintain strategic goals & metrics.
- Broad and deep knowledge of IT/software technology & trends, domain knowledge and experience in infrastructure support, application development, and database admin. including: client/server, web services, portal, middleware, operating systems, databases, networking, security & business intelligence.
-.Knowledge of software development, testing, maintenance and support.
-.Professional experience building distributed scalable enterprise-class applications using C# and ASP.Net.
-.Programming experience with HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSL, Xpath, DOM, and
-.Experience using UML CASE tools to document detailed component design.
- Process (RUP) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Development Good knowledge of, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat LINUX.
- Good knowledge of standard relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 or Oracle.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
- Experience and working knowledge of Java programming with knowledge of J2EE and related technologies are a plus.
- Experience in using Team Foundation Server is a plus.
- Conceptual understanding and/or working knowledge of Web Content Management Systems are a plus.
