Job Description
|
Provide coordination and, where requested, direction and leadership to deliver GCS infrastructure areas supporting corporate business systems platforms and application environments. Specifically, platforms include SAP applications, Non-SAP global applications, iPhone Activation, iPhoto Prints & Books, Apple Online Store and company wide collaborative applications such as Email, Calendaring, Apple Web, and Internet border zone applications.
Represent GCS in relation to project coordination responsibility and, where assigned, project management responsibilities for large scale, cross-functional projects requiring multiple areas of infrastructure support from GNCS. Manage and direct activities of high profile, global initiatives delivering within project schedule and budget objectives. Deliver all services consistent with support services objectives and customer Service Level Agreements.
Incorporate Apple products as IS&T solutions to solve corporate computing service issues wherever and whenever it is financially and technologically prudent to do so. Work closely with other IS&T managers to ensure effective communication and teamwork exists within the GCS operation and IS&T counterparts.
Facilitate refining project scope and requirements, developing project plans, creating/maintaining other project related documents and managing cross-functional teams as a leader of large scale infrastructure projects or as the GNCS lead for other larger IS&T projects containing infrastructure components.
Maintain awareness of the Corporation's business continuity program and ensure that new projects and implementations would not impact the plan.
Related to projects managed by this position, provide as needed, global coordination of activities, contracts, and commitments related to key business partners and other global team members.
Deliver project plans, other project related documents as directed by the GCS leadership team and the Director of GCS on a timely basis.
Provide effective project management leadership of assigned resources to meet GCS deliverables within specified timeframes. Maintain close working relationships with other IS&T managers to achieve maximum leverage and flawless execution by the GCS staff.
Provide support to the GCS leadership team and Director of GCS regarding the project schedules, strategies and plans as new business objectives become clarified.

Broad knowledge of computing platforms based on IBM AIX, Sun Solaris and Apple OSX. Specific knowledge in the areas of Oracle RDBMS, and associated network, systems and database monitoring and management tools for proactive support of Apple’s network and computing services infrastructure.
Working knowledge of TCPIP network services i.e. DNS, NIS, NIS+, and directory services such as LDAP.
Broad understanding of the Local Area routing and switching to facilitate data center networking requirements.
3-5 years project management experience leading large-scale, cross functional IT projects applying PMI best practices and methodologies
Demonstrated experience with hardware infrastructure deployments in corporate-wide environments or production data centers requiring broad, working knowledge of computing platforms based on IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, Linux and Apple OS X.
General knowledge in the areas of Oracle RDBMS, Teradata, and associated network, systems/database monitoring and management tools for proactive support of network and computing services infrastructure preferred. |
